13 Curious Runners hopped on a plane to sunny Lisbon this weekend to take on the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon.
We all had a lovely chilled Saturday in the scorching Lisbon sun. We took it easy as we collected our race bibs and sampled some of the local cuisine – no beer until after the race, I should add!
There was a bit of last-minute panic as the race start time was moved forward a few hours at 9pm the day before the race, in a (feeble) effort to get ahead of the intense heat that was forecast – somewhere in the mid to high 30ºCs!!
That aside, we all made it to the start line on the bridge in time to see this stunning sunrise and spirits were high
Despite the high temperatures, all 13 of us crossed the line and 6 of us were even able to clock PBs!!
Some of us celebrated with a quick dip in the river, before getting cleaned up and heading out for drinks and food.
We even had time to squeeze in a gentle 5km recovery run before flying home. So, in all, another very successful Curious adventure! Now… where to next year?
